Bayern Women Stage Comeback Against Real Madrid
The team featuring Austrian internationals Barbara Dunst, Katharina Naschenweng, and Sarah Zadrazil turns a 0-2 deficit against Real into a draw.
FC Bayern Munich Women staged a comeback against Real Madrid on the third matchday of the UEFA Women's Champions League.
Del Castillo (7') and Beerensteyn (22') gave the Spaniards the lead in Unterhaching. Imade pulled one back (31') still in the first half.
After the break, Tanikawa equalized to make it 2-2 (52'). Afterwards, the Munich women had two top chances to take a 3-2 lead through Imade (66') and substitute Eriksson (90').
Austrian Players Not in Action
Austrian players Barbara Dunst and Katharina Naschenweng were not used on Wednesday evening. Sarah Zadrazil, who returned from her ACL tear in September, was absent against Real due to muscular problems.
The Bayern women remain undefeated in the Champions League after two draws and one win. For Real, Wednesday marks their third consecutive draw.
FC Chelsea Women secured a 2-0 home victory against AS Roma. Servette Genève won 5-1 against OH Leuven.
