Schiechtl states: "These are international matches. You don't know the opponent as well as from the league, where you've played against everyone multiple times." Despite the supposedly easier champions path, they know that the competition is not easy.
However, the national team player is optimistic: "I do believe we can beat them if we have all our things together and deliver our performance."
What Happens After the Mini-Tournament?
Should the Austrians overcome the first hurdle, Hajduk Split, they would play for a spot in the third qualifying round on Saturday (August 8) at ZNK Mura's home ground against the winner of the match between ZNK Mura and Romanian champions Farul Constanta.
In case of a defeat against the Croatians, they would play against the loser of the other semi-final for third place in the tournament.
The first, second, and third-placed teams in the mini-tournament will continue internationally. If the Violets win both matches, they would advance to the third qualifying round for the premier class.
If they finish second, they will continue in the second qualifying round for the UEFA Women's Europa Cup; if they finish third, they will enter the first qualifying round.
The Goal is Clear
Even though the Women's Europa Cup, held for the first time last season, evokes some priceless memories for the Violets – they were narrowly eliminated in the quarter-finals against Sparta Prague – the goal for this season is clear:
