SKN St. Pölten ends Austria's 29-game streak

Wiener Austria suffers a defeat on the first matchday, while Blau-Weiß Linz also comes away empty-handed.

The ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga is back from the summer break!

The new season kicks off directly with a top match. Vice-champions SKN St. Pölten narrowly defeat the victors of last season, Wiener Austria, 1-0.

In front of 560 fans, Fanny Vago puts her team in the lead with a long-range shot after 19 minutes. This would remain the only goal in Vienna, meaning the "Violets" suffer a defeat on the national stage for the first time in 29 games.

Goal fest in Graz

The duel between SK Sturm Graz and SCR Altach offered more goals. The Styrian women won 6-2 at home. Pulins stood out with four goals.

The home team set the pace from the start and took the lead after 15 minutes. Brigitta Pulins scored to make it 1-0. The Graz player caused great problems for the opposing defense, constantly getting in front of goal.

Just one minute later (16th), she added the second goal, before scoring the third (29th).

The hosts did not let up after the break either. In the 47th minute, it was Pulins again, extending the lead to 4-0.

For a short time, the Altach women seemed to have recovered. Ebersold pulled one back to make it 1-4.

However, their joy did not last long. Breznik (62nd) and Krumböck (75th) added further goals, before Kofler scored the final goal in the 90th minute, making it 2-6.

Salzburg wins against Südburgenland

Red Bull Salzburg's women's team also celebrated an opening victory.

The Salzburg women won 2-0 against Südburgenland/TSV Hartberg. New signing Plattner delivered the first goal shortly before half-time (43rd). She scored from a free-kick.

In second-half stoppage time, Akrap (94th) completed the 2-0 scoreline after a corner.

LASK wins Linz Derby

To conclude the first matchday, LASK defeated Blau-Weiß Linz/Union Kleinmünchen 3-2.

After a strong start from the visitors, Blau-Weiß took the lead from a penalty by Sprung (10th). The penalty was awarded due to a foul by Schmidle on Nimmrichter. LASK seemed briefly stunned but quickly recovered and equalized from a corner by Kos (21st).

In the second half, the Black-and-Whites turned the game around. After a quick throw-in, Tuppinger gave her team cause for celebration. However, Lackner then equalized. She converted a penalty into the left corner after a foul, making it 2-2 (74th).

Just four minutes later, LASK came back again, celebrating the 3-2 final score after a deflected shot.
