In the fight for the top of the table, the defending champions from Wiener Austria suffer a setback. The Viennese side couldn't manage more than a 1-1 draw against SCR Altach.

Despite Mikulica's injury: Altach strikes back late

It looked like a victory for the Violets for a long time. Lotta Cordes gave coach Stefan Kenesei's team the lead with a header before halftime (40'), setting them on course for victory. Austria largely dominated the game but couldn't find a way to extend their lead.

Altach's top scorer Petra Mikulica also had to leave the game early due to injury. However, despite the Croatian's absence, the team from Vorarlberg secured a late equalizer through Nayana Ebersold (90+2).

The Altach team thus secures an important point in the fight for the top four, while Austria falls behind in the title race.

SKN wins dominantly

Things are going better for SKN St. Pölten, another contender in the title race. The Lower Austrians clearly defeated SK Rapid 4-0. By halftime, Rukavina, Aistleitner, and a brace from Aagaard had already secured a comfortable four-goal lead.

In the second half, the "She-Wolves" took the pace out of the game and safely brought home the victory.

The St. Pölten team thus stays close to Sturm Graz, who secured a home win against LASK on Friday evening.

Salzburg jumps to fourth place

The Salzburg team also prevailed against bottom-of-the-table Blau-Weiß Linz/Kleinmünchen. With the 4-0 victory, Red Bull Salzburg temporarily moves up to fourth place.

Dusan Pavlovic's team wants to once again qualify for the championship play-off. Their main rivals from Altach are two points behind the Salzburg team but have played one game less.
