Karlsruher SC continues to struggle under coach Maximilian Senft.

On the ninth matchday of the 2. Bundesliga, they suffered a clear 1:6 defeat against 1. FC Magdeburg. This leaves the Badeners stuck in 15th place with eight points.

The defense, in particular, is a cause for concern: With 20 goals conceded so far, KSC has the league's most vulnerable defense. For Senft, who only took charge this summer, the situation is becoming increasingly uncomfortable.

Mateusz Zukowski scored twice for Magdeburg from the penalty spot. Former Salzburg player Roko Simic also got on the scoresheet, temporarily increasing the lead to 5:0.

Christoph Kobald played the full match in central defense for KSC.

Hertha extends league lead

Hertha BSC secured a 1:0 victory against Arminia Bielefeld in the parallel match, solidifying their league lead. ÖFB player Oluwaseun Adewumi was substituted for the Berliners in the 64th minute.

Meanwhile, 1. FC Heidenheim had to settle for a 1:1 draw against Energie Cottbus. Mathias Honsak came on for Heidenheim from the 79th minute.
