Wiener Austria secures a 2-0 (0-0) victory against LASK in Round 3 of the Women's Bundesliga.

The match begins with an immediate setback for the favorites. Weilharter is forced off the pitch due to injury after just 15 minutes.

A first half with few chances follows. Austria enjoys more possession but struggles to find gaps against the compact defense of the Linz team.

Pötzl has the best opportunity in the 21st minute. She takes the ball with her first touch but is denied by goalkeeper Gurtner. The teams head into halftime with the score at 0-0.

Pfanner scores a brace

Shortly after the restart, LASK almost shocks the hosts. The crossbar denies Herbst's shot, preventing the first goal of the game (50').

This seems to be a wake-up call for the "Violets". Pfanner breaks through against her opponents and fires a low shot into the far corner. The Linz goalkeeper is beaten for the first time (63').

The Viennese team keeps pressing and celebrates making it 2-0 just two minutes later. Again, it's Pfanner who places the ball low into the net.

Nearly a Hattrick

The two-goal scorer has a chance for a hat-trick in the 76th minute but is denied by the goalkeeper. Substitute Glibo experiences a similar fate ten minutes later, missing the far corner by just a few centimeters. Thus, the home team secures a 2-0 victory.

This is the Viennese team's first win of the season in their second match. They move up to fourth place in the table, with LASK just one spot behind.
