Braunschweig defeated by Bochum on Entrup's debut

Eintracht Braunschweig, with former Rangnick assistant Lars Kornetka on the sidelines, suffered a 0-1 defeat at home against VfL Bochum on the second matchday of the German second Bundesliga.

Despite a better start by the home team and early prime chances from Urbich (4') and Aydin (7'), Bochum capitalized on an opportunity in the 18th minute and took the lead.

Following a free-kick, the ball reached Miyoshi and then Hofmann, who asserted himself and scored for 1-0.

The team, including Austrian players Casali (bench) and Steinwender (from the start), continued in the same vein and created further good opportunities through the goal scorer (30') and Taz (31'). However, they couldn't convert these into a goal, so the score remained 1-0 at halftime.

Entrup comes on after the break

For the second 45 minutes, former LASK player Entrup was substituted in for Braunschweig for the first time. He initially participated in a game with few chances. Rasmussen recorded the best chance in the 77th minute, before Mbom had the opportunity to make it 2-0 but also missed.

Nevertheless, Bochum held onto their narrow lead and celebrated their first win of the season, as well as the provisional top spot in the league.

St. Pauli lets victory slip away

David Nemeth and FC St. Pauli visited Holstein Kiel. After a draw on the opening day, the team of the Austrian player let the victory slip away in the last minute of their second game and had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Both teams started actively and promptly created good opportunities through Kaars (2') and Nekic (5'). However, they had to wait longer for the first goal. In the 32nd minute, Kaars put the visitors ahead.

Shortly before the end of the first half, St. Pauli managed to double their lead. Hara was set up by Pyrka after winning the ball and could extend the lead to 2-0 at halftime (45'+3'). The relegated Bundesliga team was significantly more effective, even if Kiel initially had more of the play.

Kiel mounts a comeback

The home team finally managed something tangible in the 56th minute. Harres scored with a header to make it 1-2. The opponent then had the next opportunities shortly after. Kaars failed twice against Weiner (62'/63') and also couldn't put the ball in the net in the 82nd minute.

Instead, Kiel celebrated again. Therkelsen got to the ball after a cross and equalized (88'). After Oppie missed with a volley moments before the end and Voll made a save shortly after, the score remained 2-2.

In the table, both teams now have two draws and two points. Before the other matches, they are in eighth place (Kiel) and ninth place (St. Pauli).
