Ex-Rapid player Murg linked with German traditional club
The Austrian is currently without a club and could find a new home at a German traditional club.
Thomas Murg (31) is currently without a club after his contract with PAOK Saloniki expired.
Now, rumors link the veteran with a new challenge. According to "Bild", the midfielder is a topic of discussion at Hansa Rostock. Two other Austrians, Lukas Wallner (23) and Peter Kiedl (22), are already under contract at Hansa.
Was in the ÖFB squad in 2018
The German traditional club, which boasts a large fan base, currently plays in the 3. Liga.
In 2018, under Franco Foda, Murg made it into the ÖFB squad once but did not feature in a match.
Played for Austria and Rapid
Murg played in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga for Austria Wien, SV Ried, and Rapid. In 2020, he moved from Hütteldorf to PAOK, where he was under contract until recently.
In 2025, he ventured on a six-month loan spell to Al-Khaleej in the Saudi Pro League.
