One win, two draws, and one loss - Jürgen Klopp and the DFB have had a rather mixed start to their time together, at least in terms of results.

However, the new coach is thoroughly convinced by the performances. Despite the goalless draw in Greece at the end of the international break, he saw a strong team, both technically and tactically, particularly in the first half.

"If someone had told me a week ago that you could play a first half like that after just one week, I wouldn't have believed it because I've never seen anything like it. The lads played an incredible football match that was top in all areas, really top," Klopp praised on the "RTL" microphone.

No Criticism from the Head Coach

Especially in counter-pressing, his team has already implemented many of his ideas. Only in front of goal did they still struggle in the four games.

While they scored one and two goals against the Netherlands and Serbia respectively, they didn't find the right attacking solutions in both matches against Greece.

Nevertheless, there was no criticism from Klopp; he raved about his team: "I am very, very impressed with the team and the way we've done it. It tended to surprise me more than make me disappointed here."

Although the DFB squad is now only in third place after four games, the focus of the first international break was more on tests and insights anyway. For this, Klopp nominated 44 players in his first training camp – a circumstance that certainly won't become the norm.

"We will calmly analyze these two weeks and then in five weeks we will have two more international matches with a condensed squad," said the German.

Finally, he sent another message to all potential national team players: "The door is open, it's open for everyone. It's about the way we play. That's important. And anyone who is ready to play this kind of football, for them the door is wide open."
