FC Barcelona will have to do without attacking star Raphinha in the upcoming two games. According to coach Hansi Flick, it is a precautionary measure.
"It's not an injury, but we have to be careful because he had three injuries last year, and we need to look after him," explains the German head coach.
Raphinha will thus miss both the league match against FC Getafe and the clash against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League.
Injury problems slow Raphinha
The Brazilian has repeatedly struggled with physical problems in the recent past. Thigh complaints have already led to forced breaks multiple times.
In the summer, Raphinha also had to leave the field injured in the second group stage match against Haiti at the World Cup and could not play another game for the Seleção afterwards.
Outstanding start to the season
The absence comes at a particularly inconvenient time for the 29-year-old. Raphinha is in absolute top form and has already scored 14 goals and provided three assists in his first eight competitive matches of the season.
Raphinha is also reportedly close to a contract extension with the Catalans. As "Mundo Deportivo" reports, the 29-year-old will extend his contract with FC Barcelona until 2030.
