Jaissle on former Rapid player: "We need fighters!"
The former Salzburg coach is looking forward to the Brazilian's comeback.
Shortly before the start of the season, former Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle took over Newcastle United in the Premier League.
The German already brought in Amar Dedic, a player he knows from FC Red Bull Salzburg, during the summer transfer window. Furthermore, he can now look forward to a former Rapid player. Joelinton (on loan from Hoffenheim to Hütteldorf between 2016 and 2018) is on the verge of his comeback.
Praise for former Rapid player
"He possesses qualities – both on and off the ball. He is a leader, his body language shows that. We need fighters in the team. We are very pleased that he is training with us again," said Jaissle about the return of the Brazilian, who has been sidelined since August due to injury.
The 30-year-old has been playing for Newcastle United since 2019 and has developed into a key player there. For Rapid, he scored 21 goals and provided nine assists in 79 games from 2016 to 2018.
