Severe knee injury? Barca fears for midfield star
The Dutchman has likely sustained a severe knee injury. However, a precise diagnosis is not yet available.
Bad news for FC Barcelona!
As reported by Spanish newspaper "Marca" on Tuesday, Frenkie de Jong is said to have sustained a severe knee injury. According to the report, the Dutchman would likely be out for around four months.
There is great concern within the club, as the worst is feared, it is said. However, a precise diagnosis is still pending. De Jong will undergo several examinations in the coming days.
A long-term absence for the 29-year-old would be a bitter loss for the Catalans. Under Hansi Flick, De Jong is a regular in midfield alongside Pedri, and played 38 games last season (one goal, eight assists).
