Laporta confirms transfer: "We are very much looking forward to Adeyemi"
Karim Adeyemi's move to FC Barcelona is not yet official, but Barca president Joan Laporta has now announced its completion in the USA.
The official announcement of Karim Adeyemi's transfer to FC Barcelona is still pending - but that could change soon.
The former Salzburg attacker was recently released by Borussia Dortmund for contract negotiations. Now, Barca president Joan Laporta has confirmed the move.
"We are very much looking forward to Adeyemi. We have been observing him for a long time. He is fast and dangerous in front of goal," the 64-year-old told Spanish media after his arrival in Dallas before the World Cup semi-final match between France and Spain.
"Deco has done an excellent job"
Sporting director Deco received special praise from Laporta, who "has done an excellent job" with this transfer.
The 24-year-old German is expected to cost the Catalans 22 million euros as a base transfer fee, including nine million in potential bonus payments, and earn a net salary of six million euros per season. BVB has secured a high resale participation of 35 percent for this.
This is already Barca's second high-profile transfer this summer. Previously, the Spanish champions had already signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for 80 million euros.
