Some FC Barcelona fans will have to watch the league match against Deportivo Alaves from an unfamiliar location.

This is because the club is closing the "Gol 1957" block in the North Stand of Camp Nou for Saturday evening's match (from 9 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).

The reason for this is an incident during the Clasico against Real Madrid. A Barcelona supporter attacked Real's Eduardo Camavinga with a flag during his celebration of the 2-1 goal.

Culprit Already Identified

The perpetrator, who has since been identified, faces a five-figure fine in addition to a stadium ban. Numerous other fans will also be unable to attend the match against Deportivo Alaves in the stadium.

"The decision follows a series of disciplinary proceedings initiated against the club and some of its members due to conduct that does not align with the values of sport," the club stated.

The club aims to engage in dialogue with its supporters, as "such behavior exposes the club to financial penalties and the risk of a stadium ban, and also damages its image."
