The two Milan clubs have presented the designs for their new shared stadium in the San Siro district.
Inter Milan and AC Milan are getting a new shared stadium.
The new arena is planned to have a capacity for 71,500 spectators and will be named "Generali Stadium". In international competitions, it will be called "Milano Stadium".
Generali will pay approximately 26 million Euros annually for the rights over 25 years, corresponding to a total investment of 650 million Euros.
For a decade, plans for a new stadium have been underway in Milan, with numerous previous projects having been discarded.
Now, they are convinced by the plans from Norman Foster (Foster + Partners) and David Manica (MANICA). They have previously co-designed London's Wembley Stadium.
Construction is planned to begin in 2028. It is expected to open in the 2031/32 season, in time for the 2032 European Championship in Italy and Turkey.
On Saturday, the two Milan clubs will face each other in the Derby at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
