Deal confirmed: Barcelona offloads captain to Premier League
It's not a quiet transfer summer for FC Barcelona. Now the captain is leaving the club.
FC Barcelona sends captain Ronald Araújo to FC Liverpool.
The Uruguayan centre-back initially moves to the Reds on loan. Subsequently, the Premier League club has a purchase option of 55 million Euros for the 27-year-old.

"Ideal step for me"
A successful work permit application and international clearance are still pending.
"I think it was the ideal step for me at this stage of my career. I think it was a step I had to take. As soon as I heard of Liverpool's interest, everything happened very, very quickly," says Araujo.
