Barcelona stays perfect against Getafe
With their eighth win in the eighth game, the Catalans remain perfect. A new signing scores his debut goal.
On the 8th matchday of the Spanish LaLiga, FC Barcelona celebrates a 3-0 victory against Getafe.
The Catalans start furiously. It only takes 79 seconds for Anthony Gordon to give the "Blaugrana" their first reason to cheer. His shot from the edge of the box is deflected unstoppably by Martín (2'). It is his first goal after five assists for Barca.
Hansi Flick's squad then shows its usual ball-security, maintaining nearly 85 percent possession and dominating their opponent at will.
Jesus continues impressive goal-scoring run
In the 30th minute, Gabriel Jesus scores. The Brazilian wins the ball himself in the opponent's box and then slots it unstoppably into the corner. For his now three competitive goals, the striker has only needed 71 minutes of play.
Just before halftime, Kounde appears all alone behind Getafe's defense. However, his first touch is sloppy, allowing Soría in the visitors' goal to intervene (45'+2).
In the second half, the Catalans controlled their lead for a long time. But then it is Kounde who makes it 3-0. After a corner kick, the Frenchman gets his foot to the ball and taps it in (73').
Barca leads LaLiga flawlessly; no team has started the Spanish league so strongly since 2013/14. Getafe is currently 13th.
