Former Spain coach takes over South Korea national team
The former Spain national team coach takes over from Hong Myung-bo. He announced his departure at the end of June after the World Cup group stage exit.
Robert Moreno is the new head coach of the South Korean national team.
His predecessor, Hong Myung-bo, resigned at the end of June after the group stage exit at the World Cup. The defeats against Mexico and South Africa were rather disappointing.
Moreno will initially coach South Korea in the upcoming international matches in September and October. In 2019, he was briefly the coach of Spain. His last coaching stints were in Monaco, Granada, and Sochi.
As an assistant coach, he won the triple with FC Barcelona in the 2014/15 season.
