Comes from Baidoo's Club: Prominent Teammate for David Schnegg
Tyrolean David Schnegg will play next season alongside a former Newcastle cult figure.
Allan Saint-Maximin will become David Schnegg's teammate.
MLS club Charlotte FC signs the French winger on a free transfer from RC Lens.
The 29-year-old leaves the club of Austrian national team defender Samson Baidoo after five months and a cup title, moving to North Carolina as a "Designated Player". He signs a contract until 2029.
Recently in Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and France
Saint-Maximin had his most successful period from 2019 to 2023, playing four seasons for Newcastle United in the Premier League. There, he became a fan favorite, making 124 appearances for the "Magpies".
Since then, the winger, known for his distinctive headbands, has become a globetrotter. After leaving Newcastle, he played for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, CF America in Mexico, and most recently Lens.
Previously, he had played for AS Saint-Etienne, AS Monaco, Hannover 96, SC Bastia, and OGC Nice. In total, clubs have paid 78 million euros for Saint-Maximin, the new teammate of former Austrian national team player Schnegg, throughout his career.
