As Inter Miami announced, a compatriot of the superstar, Cristian "Kily" Gonzalez, is taking over as head coach at the reigning MLS champions.
Title-winning coach Javier Mascherano left the club in April due to "personal reasons," and sporting director Guillermo Hoyos had held the coaching position on an interim basis since then.
The club is now responding to a recent sporting crisis with the new appointment to the position, as Inter had lost four of their last five MLS games.
