Hannes Wolf and New York City FC continue to struggle through the current Major League Soccer season.

In their last eleven MLS games, New York City FC has only managed one win, and they suffered another defeat on Saturday (local time), losing 1-2 away to Chicago Fire.

It initially looked quite good for the New York team: Hannes Wolf put his team 1-0 up in the 19th minute with a right-footed curler.

For Wolf, it is his sixth MLS season goal in his 22nd appearance, and his first goal since May 10, when he scored a hat-trick against Columbus Crew.

Chicago Receives Red Card and Turns the Game Around

It looked even better after Chicago's Dje D'Avilla was sent off with a yellow-red card in the 44th minute. Nevertheless, Chicago managed to turn the game around with ten men: Anton Saletros (55th) and Maren Haile-Selassie (88th) actually secured the victory for the hosts.

Wolf was substituted in the 82nd minute.

With 33 points, New York City FC currently sits in tenth place in the Eastern Conference.

Victory for David Schnegg

Things went better on Saturday for David Schnegg and Charlotte FC. They celebrated a 3-2 victory in their home match against FC Dallas.

Schnegg started at left-back and was substituted in the 60th minute with the score at 1-0 for Dallas. Without the Austrian on the field, his teammates Idan Toklomati (70th, 90+2nd) and Harry Toffolo (74th) turned a temporary 0-2 deficit into a victory.

After 28 season games, Charlotte now sits in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 46 points, putting them on track for the playoffs.
