Ex-Barca Forward Moves to MLS
The offensive player leaves Europe for the first time in his professional career and signs with a club in the USA. There, he inks a deal with his eleventh club in his seventh country.
Alexis Sánchez is leaving Europe and will continue his career in MLS.
The Chilean joins CF Montréal, signing a "Designated Player" contract until June 2027. The club also holds an option for an extension for another season. The Canadian MLS club is the eleventh club in the seventh country for the 168-time international.
At club level, Sánchez first made a name for himself at Udinese before moving to FC Arsenal via FC Barcelona. He won the league championship in both Spain and England.
Most Recently Active at Sevilla FC
After his time at Manchester United, his path led him to Inter Milan, with whom he celebrated two more Serie A titles in 2021 and 2024.
Sánchez also left his mark in France, where he played for Olympique Marseille.
Most recently, the 37-year-old was active for Sevilla FC. Last season, Sánchez featured in 28 La Liga matches, scoring four goals. However, his contract in Andalusia expired at the end of last season.
