FC Thun confidently managed their compulsory task in the first round of the Swiss Cup. The reigning Swiss champions routed sixth-tier FC Saxon Sports 6-0 and effortlessly advanced to the next round.

Furkan Dursun played a decisive role. The 21-year-old Austrian's hat-trick provided the early preliminary decision and thus crowned a personally perfect afternoon.

Thun took the lead in the 11th minute through Adam Ilic. Just four minutes later, Dursun celebrated for the first time: The former Rapid striker converted a penalty to make it 2-0.

Dursun added another before the break. In the 38th minute, the Austria U21 international scored his second goal, making it 3-0.

First Professional Hat-trick for Dursun

After the break, it didn't take long for Dursun to complete his hat-trick. In the 55th minute, the 21-year-old scored for the third time, celebrating his first hat-trick of his professional career.

The final score was eventually secured by Ilic again (61st minute) and an own goal from Luca Urgese. With the 6-0 victory, Thun left nothing to chance against the clear underdog.

Europa League Playoff Awaits

However, FC Thun does not have much time to catch their breath. The first leg of the Europa League playoff against Lech Posen is already scheduled for Thursday.

There, the Swiss champions will be playing for a spot in the Europa League group stage.
