Former Sturm Graz coach Nestor El Maestro has found a new employer.

The 43-year-old Serb was introduced on Friday as the new head coach of Anorthosis Famagusta. For El Maestro, it is his first position in more than four years.

Most recently, the former coach of SK Sturm Graz was on the sidelines at Göztepe Izmir in March 2022. Following the termination of his engagement at that time, the Serb has been without a club ever since.

Well-known in Austria

El Maestro is particularly well-known to Austrian football fans for his time at SK Sturm Graz. In the 2019/20 season, he managed the Graz team as head coach.

Previously, in the 2016/17 season, he already gained experience in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, when he worked as an assistant coach for Wiener Austria under Thorsten Fink.

Historic Club with Major Achievements

With Anorthosis Famagusta, El Maestro takes over one of Cyprus's most traditional clubs. The club has already been Cypriot champions 13 times, with Anorthosis winning their last title in 2008.

In the season just concluded, the club finished first in the relegation group of the highest Cypriot league.
