FC Bologna secures the services of central defender Arthur Theate.

The 27-year-old Belgian is being loaned for one year from Eintracht Frankfurt. A purchase option, reportedly set at 15 million Euros, is also included in the deal.

Theate initially moved to Eintracht on loan in 2024; in 2025, he was permanently signed for a transfer fee of 13 million Euros.

13th Departure This Summer

Last season, however, Eintracht had the weakest defense in the Bundesliga, which is why there was a small sell-off in Frankfurt's backline. Overall, the Belgian is already the 13th player Eintracht has parted ways with this summer.

For Theate, who participated in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Belgium, it marks a return to Bologna. He previously played for the "Rossoblu" from 2021 to 2022.
