Alaba too expensive? Lazio reportedly prefers Portuguese player
The search for a new club continues to be difficult for the ÖFB captain. His chances are looking less promising with another club.

Manchester United recently reportedly backed away from a potential signing. Now, another deal is also looking rather unlikely.
The Austrian was considered a strong candidate for Lazio. However, according to "Gazzetta dello Sport," the capital club is now close to signing Diogo Leite (27). The Portuguese defender played alongside Leopold Querfeld in defence at Union Berlin last season.
Former Saudi League Player Reportedly Cheaper
David Alaba was also a topic of discussion, but his high wage demands were reportedly unmanageable for Lazio. Even if they were to make another move for a central defender after Leite, the Austrian would still be an unrealistic deal.
Marcelo Brozovic (33/most recently with Al Nassr) is reportedly available for less money. The Croatian once made a name for himself at Inter Milan.
