After Outburst: Harsh Punishment for Napoli Coach Allegri
The Italian head coach will miss his club's upcoming league matches. He also has to pay a fine.
Napoli head coach Massimiliano Allegri received a red card in his team's 3-3 draw against AS Roma last weekend in stoppage time.
The 59-year-old lost his temper after Roma's late equalizer and criticised the referee. He was subsequently sent to the stands.
The Italian will also not return to the SSC Napoli dugout in the upcoming matches – he was suspended for the next two league games. Furthermore, Allegri must pay a fine of 10,000 euros.
Napoli plans to challenge the decision and has already announced their intention to appeal. However, it is unlikely that Allegri will be back on the touchline for the Neapolitans' away game at AC Monza on Wednesday.
