AC Milan emerges victorious from the Derby della Madonnina.

The Rossoneri secured a 3-1 victory over city rivals Inter Milan in the ninth round of Serie A. This marks the Nerazzurri's first league defeat of the season.

Milan set the course for victory early on. After just four minutes, Pulisic headed a cross from Moreira softly into the net (4'). Shortly after, Rabiot, assisted by Moreira, curled a low shot off the inside of the post to make it 2-0 (10').

Moreira's Dream Free-Kick Finds the Net

Just twelve minutes later, Inter scored for the first time. Akanji flicked on a Calhanoglu corner, and Bastoni was perfectly positioned to reduce the deficit to 1-2 (22').

Chivu's side then gained the upper hand, but Maignan prevented an equalizer with a brilliant save against Spence (34').

Before halftime, Moreira capped off his performance, as the Belgian curled a free-kick from 20 meters over the Inter wall and into the net (43').

Amorim Celebrates First Derby Win

In the second half, the Nerazzurri tried to claw their way back into the game.

In the 75th minute, VAR overturned a supposed penalty for Inter due to handball, as Gila had played the ball with his stomach.

Ultimately, Ruben Amorim celebrated a victory in his first Derby as Milan coach. Milan are now unbeaten against their city rivals in nine direct encounters.

In the table, the Rossoneri are now just four points behind leading duo Lazio and Inter, with the Romans able to take sole leadership on Sunday against Cagliari Calcio (15:00 CET).
