Italy has found a new (old) head coach!

According to several media reports, new federation president Giovanni Malago and Antonio Conte have reached an agreement. The 56-year-old is reportedly set to sign until 2030.

Conte was most recently active at SSC Neapel, where he won the Scudetto in 2024/25. At the end of the season, he prematurely terminated his contract with this year's vice-champion.

Clear Main Goal

Conte previously served as Italy's head coach from 2014 to 2016.

The main goal for the planned four-year term, during which Conte is expected to earn a good 16 million euros, is clear: qualification for the 2030 World Cup. The Italians recently missed qualification for the 2026, 2022, and 2018 World Cups.
