Klopp on Musiala: "I wanted to take this one worry away from him"

The illness of Bayern player Jamal Musiala is also a concern for new DFB head coach Jürgen Klopp.

The German has now sent the player a voice message with which he intends to encourage him. The 59-year-old explained to "Sky" that a call would not have been an option, "because he doesn't know me yet at all, so he doesn't know my number either. If I had called him, I could have called him for three days - I don't think he would have picked up."

A reaction came promptly. After two collapses by Musiala due to neurological dysfunction, the 23-year-old also missed Bayern's first match against Stuttgart.

Klopp gives update on health status

The national team coach now wants to give Jamal hope. "In the end, everything will be fine, everyone actually agrees on that – just not for the moment. And so I definitely wanted to take away from him this one worry, whether that has any effects – which of course it doesn't. I can't take much more from him," Klopp explained.

He is also likely to be informed about his current health status. "He is back in top form, Vincent Kompany confirmed that to me. He is in incredible condition."

Now much patience is needed, but Musiala is in the best hands. "We want to contribute to this perfect environment and simply say: 'Boy, get well!' Then the door is open," the German concluded.
