Adewumi scores again in Hertha BSC goal fest
Eight goals are scored in the duel with Eintracht Braunschweig. The Austrian legionnaire scores Berlin's last goal.
Hertha BSC also emerged victorious on the third matchday of the 2. Bundesliga.
The traditional club from the capital won 5:3 against Eintracht Braunschweig and remains flawless at the top of the table.
The hosts got off to a better start, leading 2:0 through Sturm (10th) and Ehlers (33rd). Hertha managed to equalize before the break: Thorsteinsson (44th) and Brekalo (45th+4) with a dream goal from 40 metres scored within minutes.
Adewumi scores second goal of the season
After the break, the Berliners turned the game around after an own goal by Ehlers (53rd/OG), Brekalo completed his brace with a penalty kick to make it 4:2 (69th/P).
At this point, Oluwaseun Adewumi was already on the field; the Austrian talent was substituted in the 66th minute. And in the final phase, he celebrated his second goal of the season: He volleyed Schuler's cross from midfield into the near post (87th).
Urbich immediately ensured that tension returned in the final phase (88th). But Hertha emerged victorious after a highly entertaining match.
Hertha has nine points after three games, while Braunschweig, despite their second consecutive defeat, remains in fifth place.
Osnabrück beats Bochum
In the parallel match, VfL Osnabrück secured a 1:0 victory against VfL Bochum.
Badjie scored the decisive goal already in the fourth minute. For Bochum, Michael Steinwender played the full match, while Tino Casali was on the substitutes' bench.
