Austrian international returns to Ingolstadt
The Upper Austrian-born player returns to the Schanzer after a season in Portugal.
Benjamin Kanuric closes his chapter in Portugal and returns to the Schanzer in Ingolstadt.
The former U21 national team player made 16 appearances for Leixões SC last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. However, he was only used as a substitute in the first half of the season and barely featured in the second.
Kanuric is delighted to be back at Ingolstadt: "From day one, I felt incredibly comfortable here and experienced many special moments with the team and our fans. Even during my time in Portugal, I always followed the club. The discussions with the club management gave me a really good feeling and reinforced my decision. When the opportunity to return arose, I didn't have to think twice."
Ingolstadt's squad planner Rigo Hof is thrilled about the transfer: "With his quality, creativity, and understanding of the game, he brings exactly the attributes that will benefit our offensive play. His time abroad also provided him with valuable experiences and contributed to his sporting and personal development. With his style of play, he will enrich us, but above all, he fits perfectly into our team on a personal level."
