Gift Orban is set to leave TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

This is consistently reported by "Sport Bild" and "Sky". The Nigerian (23) is reportedly allowed to leave the club of Austrian head coach Christian Ilzer and sporting director Andreas Schicker "for an initial fee of around five million" euros.

There is reportedly interest from Italy and Turkey. Serie A club US Lecce and Amed SK from the Süper Lig are said to have expressed concrete interest.

Negative Headlines in Italy

Orban had been signed from Olympique Lyon in January 2025 for nine million euros. It was the first notable new signing that Styrian Andreas Schicker was responsible for.

Last summer, the quick striker moved to Hellas Verona on loan. With the Venetians, Orban was relegated from Serie A, but recorded seven goals and three assists in 28 games.

Off the pitch, the 2002-born player caused negative headlines in April after getting into a fight with a fan following a match against AC Milan.

For Hoffenheim, where Orban has a contract until 2029, he made 13 competitive appearances and scored four goals.
