Former Salzburg Boss Apparently Interfered with Tactics at Gladbach
Following coach Eugen Polanski's departure, details regarding his collaboration with Rouven Schröder are now coming to light. Schröder reportedly dictated the team's orientation and system of play.

Following the 0-5 thrashing on the third matchday against SC Freiburg, sporting director Rouven Schröder pulled the plug and parted ways with coach Eugen Polanski. However, according to "Sport Bild", the former sporting director of FC Red Bull Salzburg may not have been entirely blameless for the team's sporting decline.
According to the tabloid, Schröder "influenced many of Polanski's decisions." Specifically, the now former coach was reportedly "prescribed a courageous style of play with a back four" before the start of the season.
Restrictions on Assistant Selection
On the last matchday before the international break, his interim successor Jan-Moritz Lichte reverted to a back four, but without much success. In the 3-4 defeat against FSV Mainz 05, the "Foals" conceded another four goals.

The former assistant coach of ex-Rapid coach Robert Klauß is now reportedly set to receive more "tactical freedom," according to the "Sport Bild" report. According to rumors, however, the former FC St. Pauli coach is allowed to bring at most one assistant of his own, with the retention of Jan-Moritz Lichte and Markus Gellhaus reportedly being a prerequisite for his agreement.
Complicating matters for Blessin is the fact that there are ongoing disputes within the "mentally shattered" team. Most recently, Tim Kleindienst, who publicly called out his teammates, and vice-captain Kevin Diks, who argued with Shuto Machino over the execution of a penalty, caused a stir.
