Odd! ÖFB Legionnaire's Jersey Hangs from the Locker Room Ceiling
Out of anger over his avoidable red card, he tore his jersey. Now the jersey hangs from the locker room ceiling as a reminder.
After a mixed start to the season, TSG Hoffenheim and coach Christian Ilzer recently returned to winning ways with two consecutive victories.
Alexander Prass played a crucial role in the resurgence of the Sinsheim team. The ÖFB international contributed two goals and an assist in the last two match days.
However, his goal for the temporary 2-0 lead against Bayer Leverkusen will not only be remembered positively. After having already received a yellow card in the 45th minute, he celebrated his game-sealing goal by taking off his jersey.
The logical consequence was a second yellow card leading to a red. As his sending-off had no negative repercussions, Christian Ilzer took his blunder with humor >>>
Prass: "I won't be taking off my jersey that quickly again"
As Prass himself revealed on TSG Hoffenheim's social media channel, he has taken a special measure to ensure such a mistake never happens again. "The jersey I was wearing got a bit damaged on the way to the locker room because I somehow ripped it. A nice tear was created there. It's now hanging in the locker room from the ceiling on a coat hook."
In retrospect, he can smile about his carelessness. "Because it turned out well, I say: 'No big deal'. But it certainly annoys me," said the 25-year-old. One thing is clear for Christian Ilzer's protégé after this incident: "I won't be taking off my jersey that quickly again."
