Stefan Posch returns to the German Bundesliga
Last season, the defender was on loan from Como to Mainz. His future playing destination has now been confirmed.
Stefan Posch is back in the German Bundesliga!
After a half-season loan last season, the 29-year-old makes his move permanent from Serie A side Como to Mainz 05.
"Poschi joined us last winter to recommend himself for the World Cup with Austria and helped us immediately. Stefan integrated extremely quickly and instantly made us better. He is a versatile player with a lot of experience in the Bundesliga and on the international stage. It's no coincidence that he has been a permanent fixture in the ÖFB national team for several years," said Sporting Director Niko Bungert.
Long Tenure at Hoffenheim
He continued: "What he's capable of and how important he can be for Mainz 05, he has proven multiple times in the last six months. In addition, he is an outstanding guy who fits ideally into the team structure. We are very happy that Poschi wanted to remain a Mainzer and that we were able to make that happen now."
The 29-year-old has already gathered plenty of experience, having played 126 competitive matches for TSG Hoffenheim.
