Trimmel among the oldest, one active player ahead of Neuer
However, to become the oldest player in the entire Bundesliga, Neuer would have to keep playing for another three years. At 43 years, six months, and two days old, Klaus Fichtel is the oldest veteran in league history.
With Christopher Trimmel, an ÖFB legionnaire is also among the league's oldest players. The Union captain ranks 15th at 39 years, eight months, and eight days old.
