Muslic's club Schalke plots spectacular return move
A "prodigal son" could return to the "Miners" – and provide competition for Maximilian Wöber.
Miron Muslic and FC Schalke 04 could soon make a statement on the transfer market.
According to transfer journalist Gianluca Di Mario, the "Miners" are working on bringing back Sead Kolasinac.
Fan Favorite at Schalke
The now 33-year-old rose through the ranks at Schalke and enjoys high regard among fans. In 2017, his contract expired, and he moved to Arsenal FC.
For him, it would be his second comeback in Gelsenkirchen: During the second half of the 2020/21 season, Schalke already brought him back on loan from Arsenal to aid in the – ultimately unsuccessful – fight against relegation.
Direct Competition for Wöber
After that, he moved to Olympique Marseille. Three years ago, he joined his current club, Atalanta Bergamo, where he has been a key player ever since.
If the transfer indeed goes through, left-footed Kolasinac would be a direct and serious competitor for Austrian international Maximilian Wöber, who also recently signed for Schalke.
