TSG 1899 Hoffenheim continues to be plagued by injury woes.
Especially in defense, the personnel situation is increasingly worsening. Besides Valentin Gendrey, who suffered a serious injury (read more here >>>), and Albian Hajdari, who is also out for several more months, veteran Vladimír Coufal (34) is also missing.
ÖFB international Patrick Wimmer is also sidelined for an extended period due to a thigh injury.
Now, center-back Robin Hranac has also been affected. Due to a lateral meniscus injury, the Czech player must undergo a minor knee procedure.
Players from Second Team Must Help Out
The strained personnel situation was already evident in the match against Werder Bremen: five players made their Bundesliga debut.
Klaus Gjasula (36), who was originally signed as an experienced leader for the second team, also took a seat on the substitutes' bench.
Coach Christian Ilzer is nevertheless trying to extract something positive from the tense situation: "You can also grow in such phases," "Transfermarkt" quotes the Austrian.
