Austrian International Dursun Targeted by German Bundesliga Clubs
Two German clubs are said to have recently scouted the former Rapid player.
Furkan Dursun is attracting the interest of two traditional German clubs.
As Turkish transfer journalist Ekrem Konur reports, both Union Berlin and Schalke 04 are said to be showing interest in the Austrian U21 international.
According to reports, both clubs have observed the former Rapid player several times this season. However, the 21-year-old striker's contract with FC Thun runs until 2029.
Already 13 Goal Contributions This Season
After Dursun moved from Rapid to the Bernese Oberland last winter, he sensationally became Swiss champion as a substitute player last season.
This season, the striker established himself as a regular starter. In 17 appearances, he managed eight goals and five assists.
Major Attacking Problems
Currently, both Schalke and Union are experiencing major attacking problems. In eight Bundesliga matches, Schalke has only managed to score four goals, while Union has scored seven.
Therefore, both teams are likely to primarily look for attacking reinforcements in the winter transfer window.
At Schalke, three Austrians are already playing: Maximilian Wöber, Dejan Ljubicic, and Junior Adamu. At Union, Dursun's former teammate Leopold Querfeld plays, and Thun's championship-winning coach Mauro Lustrinelli is on the sidelines.
