Adi Hütter and Eintracht Frankfurt also won their second clash against HSV within a week.

Following their DFB-Pokal win on Tuesday, Eintracht once again defeated Hamburg 3-1 on Sunday evening on the eighth matchday of the German Bundesliga.

Own Goal Gives Them the Lead

The match started as desired for the hosts. After ten minutes, Frankfurt took a 1-0 lead – with significant help from HSV player Warmed Omari, who pushed the ball over his own line in an attempt to clear it (10').

However, Hamburg equalized just a few minutes later. Terem Moffi was completely free to shoot from close range and scored to make it 1-1 (14'). After the break, Adi Hütter's team took the lead again, this time through a Frankfurt player.

After a corner, the visitors couldn't clear the situation. Raphael Onyedika reacted quickest in the penalty area and tapped it in (47').

Hütter's Team Climbs to Eighth Place

Eintracht subsequently dominated the match. Fares Chaibi initially appeared to extend the lead to 3-1. However, the goal was disallowed by VAR due to offside. Finally, Younes Ebnoutalib secured the 3-1 scoreline, providing a two-goal cushion and the final result (69').

In stoppage time, Adi Hütter brought on the 16-year-old Niko Ilicevic, making him the youngest player in the history of the German Bundesliga. The youngster had only celebrated his 16th birthday on Saturday.

With the home win, the Austrian coach's team moved up to eighth place in the table and, after a mixed start to the season, is once again knocking on the door of the international spots.
