Andreas Schicker orchestrates another deal
TSG Hoffenheim finds a suitor for a center-back – he will be loaned to Brazil.
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim finalized another transfer on Friday.
As announced by the club, defender Arthur Chaves is moving back to his Brazilian homeland on a loan deal.
Botafogo Rio de Janeiro has snapped up the 25-year-old center-back for one year. The loan fee amounts to 1.5 million Euros.
Deal with Purchase Obligation
Under certain conditions, a purchase obligation will even come into effect. This is in the region of six million Euros.
Chaves joined TSG in 2024 for six million Euros from the second Portuguese league and made a total of 39 competitive appearances for the Kraichgauer, but the Brazilian did not play a significant role under Christian Ilzer.
That is also why Chaves was loaned to FC Augsburg for half a year in January 2026.
Schicker: "Meaningful and Clear Perspective"
"We spoke very openly with him about his sporting situation and the various possibilities for his future," explained TSG sporting director Andreas Schicker in a club statement.
"The loan to Brazil now offers Arthur the chance to play regularly at a high level and to take on responsibility in an environment familiar to him. We have now created a meaningful and clear perspective for all parties involved."
