Last season, Oliver Glasner won the UEFA Conference League with Crystal Palace. After his departure, he was long linked with AC Milan, but in the end, it was Nottingham Forest.

However, according to "Bild", the Upper Austrian also had other options. Accordingly, he reportedly turned down the position as successor to Ole Werner at RB Leipzig.

Glasner was also reportedly a candidate to succeed Klopp as Head of Soccer at Red Bull.

Schmidt was also likely a candidate

His former boss in Salzburg was also reportedly discussed at the Red Bull Arena.

However, Roger Schmidt, under whom Glasner once took his first steps as an assistant, also reportedly turned down Leipzig. The Saxons have already signed a new coach in Martin Demichelis.

Klopp's succession has not yet been settled. According to the report, Eintracht boss Markus Krösche has turned down the offer. A promotion for Technical Director Mario Gomez is not planned, but Red Bull is determined to fill the position.
