Austria's World Cup Player Sought After in Germany
Tae-seok Lee appeared in two World Cup matches for South Korea. The defender impressed in his first year with the Violets.
The German Bundesliga could come calling for Tae-seok Lee.
As "Krone" and "Sky" consistently report, Hamburger SV is interested in the Wiener Austria left-back. According to "Sky", initial, informal talks have already taken place, but a written offer has not yet been submitted.
The 23-year-old was part of South Korea's squad at the Football World Cup, accumulating a total of 114 minutes across two appearances for the "Taeguk Warriors". The 2002 World Cup semi-finalists were eliminated after the group stage.
The 17-time international only moved from the Pohang Steelers to Verteilerkreis last summer, with the Violets paying 800,000 Euros for his services. Lee immediately impressed with three goals and five assists in 30 games.
His contract is valid until summer 2029.
