Austria's New Shirt Sponsor: Negotiations Underway
Currently, Wiener Austria's new jersey has to do without a shirt sponsor. That should change soon.
On Thursday (from 5:00 PM in the LIVE ticker), FK Austria Wien kicks off its new competitive season with an away match against FK Liepaja.
When Austria enters the stadium for the first leg of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round, they will do so in jerseys that do not feature a shirt sponsor.
That will likely remain the case for a while – but not for too long.
Austria Negotiating with Several Potential Partners
"We are in negotiations with several potential partners and are confident that we can present the new sponsor promptly," explained Austria's CFO Harald Zagiczek to the "Kurier".
The original plan was to announce the new shirt sponsor already at the presentation of the new kits. Instead, the goal has now been set to unveil the new sponsor by the end of August at the latest.
In recent seasons, "Frankstahl" adorned the front of Austria's jerseys. However, the partnership expired after four years.
