Ex-DFB Striker Set for Werder Bremen Return
The veteran was recently on loan at AC Milan. Now he returns to Bremen.
Niclas Füllkrug is on the verge of returning to Werder Bremen!
The now 33-year-old striker is reportedly set to fly to Germany this Monday evening and then finalize his move to the German Bundesliga club. "Sky" reports this.
Loan Without Purchase Option
The mandatory medical check-up is scheduled for Tuesday. A loan without a purchase option is being discussed.
Füllkrug is still under contract with Premier League relegated club West Ham United until summer 2028.
Last season, he was on loan at AC Milan in Serie A. There, the striker made 20 appearances and scored one goal.
Good Record with DFB
He had his most successful period in Germany. For Bremen, he played 124 times, scoring 49 goals and assisting 16 others.
In summer 2023, he then moved to Borussia Dortmund for 17 million euros, before moving on to West Ham United in England a year later for 27 million euros.
For Germany, the former national player made 24 international appearances, impressing with 14 goals.
