Ilzer the reason for TSG move? New signing explains motives
In the race for the young Belgian, Hoffenheim is said to have also beaten BVB to the punch. This was not least due to the "key figures".
This summer, suitors for Anderlecht gem Nathan De Cat were lining up.
Among others, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund are said to have vied for the favour of the 18-year-old midfielder. However, TSG Hoffenheim ultimately secured his signature.
This is said to be not least thanks to Sporting Director Andreas Schicker and coach Christian Ilzer.
De Cat: "Right time, right people, right next step"
Speaking to "Bild", he now named the reasons for his move to the Kraichgau region: "The key figures here were extremely important to me. And, of course, the prospect of playing time. For a young player, the most important thing is to accumulate as many minutes as possible. I believe you have to choose the right people and the right next step at the right time. Hoffenheim was simply the best option for me."
Christian Ilzer must have presented him with an exciting path, which ultimately convinced him to join TSG Hoffenheim.
In collaboration with Andreas Schicker, with whom he previously worked extremely successfully at SK Sturm Graz, he has already convinced several highly sought-after players.
