English ex-international set for move to Champions League club

As transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports, former ManUnited defender Chris Smalling is on the verge of a move to the Portuguese Champions League participant.
The 36-year-old has been without a club since his contract expired in Saudi Arabia in July and could therefore still be registered for the current league season.
In Porto, Smalling, who is scheduled to undergo his medical check on Wednesday, is set to be offered a contract until the end of the season.
Smalling would bring experience from 31 international caps for England as well as 323 competitive matches for Manchester United and 155 appearances for AS Roma to Portugal.
