Former Coach Pep Guardiola Reacts to City Verdict
The star coach takes to social media after his former club was found guilty of numerous financial breaches.
Following the Premier League's guilty verdict against Manchester City due to financial breaches, former City coach Pep Guardiola has also spoken out.
On his X account, he writes: "I want every Manchester City fan to know that I am here – more than ever. I am, have been, and always will be behind my club, behind the owner, the chairman, Ferran (Soriano, ManCity CEO, ed.), the players, the staff, Enzo (Maresca, ed.), and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: We will get through this together. I love you all."
Guardiola was manager of Manchester City between summer 2016 and summer 2026. During this time, he won, among other things, the Champions League (2022/23), six league titles, five League Cup victories, three FA Cup titles, and the Club World Cup (2023/24).

Manchester City was found guilty of systematically breaching the Premier League's financial rules in 115 instances between 2009 and 2018. The club, however, declared its innocence and intends to exhaust all legal avenues to appeal the decision. The consequences of the Premier League's verdict remain unclear at present.
