Bitter Blow! HSV without former Salzburg player for weeks
The attacker got injured with the national team and will now miss time for his club.
Bitter news for Hamburger SV!
The already struggling German Bundesliga club will have to do without striker Patson Daka for the coming weeks.
The former Salzburg player sustained a muscle tear in his left thigh while with the Zambian national team.
Injury Concerns
The 27-year-old only joined HSV in the summer, started twice, and came off the bench twice as a substitute. However, the Zambian is still waiting for his first goal in a Hamburg shirt.
As two other attacking players, Albert Grönbaek and Terem Moffi, are already out due to injury, head coach Merlin Polzin will have to get creative after the international break.
Once Played in Salzburg
Daka joined HSV in the summer after five years at Leicester City. The attacker had a difficult time with the sensational 2016 champions, being relegated from the Premier League all the way to the third division.
Before his spell in England, Daka was active for four years in Austria with FC Red Bull Salzburg and FC Liefering. With the "Bullen" (Bulls), he won the championship four times, played 125 games, and scored 68 goals.
